If the Oil Spill Was In Ontario

June 15, 2010

The BP Oil Spill overlayed on Ontario

I was recently linked to the website, which shows what the BP oil spill would look like where you live. It clearly shows how big of ecological disaster the oil spill is. The oil spill covers nearly the enitre golden horseshoe, which has a population of approximately eight million people. The slow response by BP, and the Obama administration, as well as smiliar problems in Canada show that offshore oil drilling will not be going away from our coasts. The Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, Danny Williams has said that having to drill a second, back up pipe would make it too costly, and stop Newfoundland’s oil rig developments.

The problems having to do with clean up still remain to be seen, as will BP’s reaction. I do not think they will pay what they rightfully owe, but another question is, cna you even put a price on some of the things that were destroyed?
